Paula can currently be seen in Bernard Slade's Same Time Another Year (September 1999), in which she co-stars with Dennis Waterman. Paula's most recent previous theatre appearance was as Mrs Bates in Whatever Happened to Baby Jane at Brighton's Theatre Royal. Prior to this she appeared at the Gate Theatre, London in Gerlind Reinshagen's one-woman play The Clowness.

Other recent work includes Candida in Bernard Shaw's play at the New End Theatre, Norma in James Robson's new play Mr Wonderful at the Derby Playhouse, Adriana in The Comedy of Errors at the Open Air Theatre in Regent's Park and Miranda in the Vivian Ellis musical Listen to the Wind at the King's Head theatre.

Paula's West End appearances have included playing Shirley in Willy Russell's one-woman play Shirley Valentine, the Queen in Sue Townsend's The Queen and I, Thea Elvsted in Hedda Gabler, Kate in Ayckbourn's Bedroom Farce, Eliza in Pygmalion and Lulu in Pinter's The Birthday Party. In America her roles have included Connie in the US premiere of Henceforward... by Alan Ayckbourn at the Mark Taper Forum, Los Angeles.

Her many television credits include Peak Practice, The Stalker's Apprentice, Life After Birth, The Queen's Nose, Blue Heaven, Fiddler's Three and Man about the House.

She was offered her first television series, The Lovers, after appearing with the National Youth Theatre as a student, and has retained her connection with that organisation as a member of the NYT council.
