Here is the Central Presentation slide from December 1986. |
| This is a similar slide from three years later in 1989 - note the introduction of the generic ITV logo. | ![]() |

"Very cold with some snow showers - Oracle page 120" - a brief look at the weather, accompanied by an unusual version of the famous Central Globe. |

Central Start-Up - Special Feature Before the days of 24-hour television, it was traditional for ITV stations to begin each day with a short identification sequence. |
| Central Close-Down - Special Feature What starts up must close down, to coin a phrase. If you enjoyed watching Central rise and shine, why not join them at the tail end of a busy day as they settle down for the night? |

These images show the sequence of events when Central closed down some time in December 1986, after the film Marie in the City (which might help date these snaps). This is a slide over which the announcer told us that Independent Local Radio would be on air through the night. After this, a picture of a newspaper with a job advertisement circled; the announcer told us that the following morning a brand new service would begin on Oracle advertising job vacancies. |
| Finally, this moonlight scene was shown and the
Central signature tune was played, over which we were
wished goodnight. If you watch carefully, you'll notice
that one by one the lights in the houses are turned off.
There are also shooting stars in the sky. |
